Curtis Harding

Curtis Harding was born on the move. Shifting spheres between north and south until his family ultimately landed in Atlanta where, reared on a diet of Mahalia Jackson and Mavis Staples, he learned to sing and play drums in church. But it was his sister’s collection of hip hop tapes that would change his life.

Harding’s 2014 debut, Soul Power, turned up the heat in Europe before Face Your Fear exploded State-side three years later. Helmed by super producer Danger Mouse, that record earned Harding dates with everyone from Jack White to Lenny Kravitz, landed him festival slots at Newport Folk, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, and racked up nearly 60 million streams on Spotify alone.

Now having faced his fears Curtis Harding is ready to share his love. Written and recorded over the past two tumultuous years, If Words Were Flowers is an intoxicating bouquet: one that agitates at the sonic frontiers but at the same time sounds perfectly timeless. Drawing on everything from vintage soul to hip hop, garage rock to psychedelia, these infectious airtight grooves are destined to get you on your feet at his only Australian show.
