Josh Pyke knows all the backstreets. As one of the nation’s foremost troubadours, he’s travelled to the farthest reaches of both the nation and his inner self and returned with his most revealing album yet, To Find Happiness.
Throughout his momentous career, Pyke has released six top ten albums, received four ARIA Awards, gone 2x platinum and has had nine songs appear in triple j’s Hottest 100 countdowns. He is also a celebrated children’s book author. After a two-year hiatus, Pyke returned in 2020 with his ARIA nominated album ROME. Whilst written and recorded before the pandemic struck, the record offered people light in a dark time, revealing the timeless, universal quality of his songwriting and storytelling.
Continuing the creative drive, Pyke’s seventh studio album To Find Happiness – led by the single The Hummingbird (featuring Gordi) – debuted at #2 in the ARIA album charts. In 2014 Pyke inaugurated the JP Partnership, which supports unsigned musicians via a monetary grant and mentorship. Recipients of the award have included Gordi, Alex Lahey and most recently Allegra Neve.
