Highschool bands rarely travel far, but The Grogans aren’t just any band. Bonding over a kindred love of surfing, punk and Oz-tinged psychedelic rock, these three best mates struck upon a musical groove that instantly grew a cult following in their hometown of Melbourne.
The trio that is Quin Grunden, Angus Vasic and Jordan Lewis dished up their first fuzzy sonic assault, Cacteyed, in the summer of ’16 – a sound best described as being wedged between the gritty urban rock pedigree of their hometown and the blissed-out coastal vibes of a weekend in the swell. 2018’s Grogan Grove would serve up perennial live favourite Lemon To My Lime. The song is today nudging six million Spotify streams.
The trio soon hit the tarmac, taking their spangled-out brand of sing-along rock on a sold-out headline tour to hallowed halls around the nation, stopping in at festivals and supporting fellow travellers Polish Club and The Chats along the way – as well as releasing two long players, including 2020’s magnum opus Day / To / Day. The Grogans kick into 2022 with a brand-spankin’ reverb soaked single Inside My Mind, a psychedelic song for our times… and all time!
