Getting Here

Wanderer festival is located approximately halfway between Melbourne and Sydney, on the far south coast of New South Wales, 1hr north of the Victorian border. It’s only a 3 hour drive from Canberra or a 6-7 hour drive from either Melbourne or Sydney. Short flights operate between Merimbula, Sydney & Melbourne. You can fly, drive or catch a bus – depending on how you like to travel! The Sapphire Coast offers accommodation options to suit every kind of festival goer.

DRIVE

The festival site is located on the coast in Pambula Beach, 10 minutes south of Merimbula and 20 minutes north of Eden. After the festival, take a coastal road trip along the Princes Highway, Sapphire Coast Drive and the Tathra-Bermagui Road or discover the hinterland and countryside – a lovely drive with excellent food and wine, artisan goods and magnificent green valleys.

PARKING

Day Parking – The festival is a short walk or bike ride if you’re staying in Pambula or Pambula Beach and we encourage you to leave your car at home. There will be bike racks onsite, BYO bike lock. There is ample car parking for those not staying close by. Car parking is located directly opposite the festival on the Pambula Beach Road Reserve. This car park is only for those with a Wanderer Festival ticket.

Oaklands Campground – If you’re camping with Wanderer Festival at Oaklands Campground, you can park your car with your campsite in the campground, or leave the campground to explore. We encourage you to carpool to reduce traffic congestion and reduce your carbon footprint. The camphub is staffed 24/7 and a breathalyzer is available for you to ensure you are ok to drive.

Festival Site Campground – If you’re camping with Wanderer Festival at the Festival Site in Pambula Beach, there is limited space for cars. You will be able to park one car per group booking on site. We encourage you to carpool to reduce traffic congestion and reduce your carbon footprint. If you need more than one car per group booking, you will be able to park your additional vehicle in one of the day parking locations found here. Families in the family campground will be able to park their car with their tent; adult campers without kids will either be able to park with their tent or close by on the festival site. Live in Vans will be parked separately to tent camping.

There are no car passouts from the Festival Site Campground. Your car or Live in Van will remain parked until it is time to go home. However cars parked in the day parking car parks can come and go.

FLY

Merimbula Airport offers flights to Sydney and Melbourne, with regular services by Regional Express and Qantas Link. You can hire a car from Merimbula Airport (see below “CAR HIRE” for contacts).

BUS

VLine, Countrylink and Premier Motor Service provide regular coach services from Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Local bus services can get you around once you’re here, or rent a car to explore (see below “LOCAL BUSES” for more information).

SHUTTLE BUS

There have been some changes to the bus service this year.

Wanderer Festival buses will operate from South Pambula, Pambula & Pambula Beach to the festival. Sapphire Coast Buslines are also operating a festival service from Merimbula, Tura Beach, Eden, Bega, Tathra and Kalaru.

Oaklands. If you’re camping with us at Oaklands, your bus ticket is included with your camping ticket. You do not need to purchase a ticket or register for this service. Buses will loop according to demand from the Oaklands Campground to Wander Festival from the festival’s start to finish times each day.

Local Area. A user-pays bus service will run throughout the festival in the local area. Buses will stop in South Pambula (Mt Darragh Rd bus shelter), Pambula (Bennett Lane bus shelter) and Pambula Beach (1 Pambula Beach Rd bus shelter outside Discovery Parks). Bus tickets for this service are sold by Wanderer Festival through Moshtix and must be PRE-PURCHASED. A $10 bus pass covers return trips throughout the festival (you must have a valid Festival Ticket for the day of travel). U10 ride free.

Region. Tickets for the bus service to and from Eden, Merimbula, Tura Beach, Kalaru, Tathra, Bega and Wolumla must be PRE-PURCHASED directly from Sapphire Coast Buslines.Prices are quoted as 1 day festival passes or tickets for the whole festival weekend, and will be as displayed on the Sapphire Coast Buslines website.

A user-pays prepaid service ensures we can provide a comprehensive service over the festival weekend, so you can be confident your festival travel experience will be hassle free. Prices have been kept as low as possible and children U10 ride free.

LOCAL BUSES

Sapphire Coast Bus Lines operates bus services to Merimbula, Bega, Tathra, Pambula, Tura Beach, Kalaru, Wolumla, Pambula Beach, Eden and all locations in between. Bega Valley Coaches operates a daily bus service from Bega to Bermagui, via Quaama and Cobargo and return.

Sapphire Coast Bus Lines are offering an increased service to transport Wanderer Festival patrons throughout the festival weekend.
