Melbourne band Empress’ swirling vocal harmonies and captivating synth-based electronic dance grooves have helped them build a reputation as a live force. They’ve played sold-out shows at The Toff in Town, Colour Club and the Curtin Hotel, curated a four-week June residency at the Evelyn Hotel and capped off a huge 2021 by playing a triumphant show at the Night Cat to a 450-strong crowd. Consisting of female vocal trio Grace Robinson, Stella Dunai and Matilda Pungitore, as well as bassist Noah Hutchinson, drummer Matt Dooley and keyboardist Christy Wozitsky-Jones, the band is now set to release their debut single Baby, which captures the energy and euphoria present at one of their live shows.
