Melbourne’s Folk Bitch Trio have carved out a space very much their own within the tapestry of indie music coming out of Australia’s East Coast. What began as a self-described “unserious collaboration” between three friends – Gracie Sinclair, Jeanie Pilkington and Heide Peverelle – Folk Bitch Trio has evolved into a dynamic musical force.
Since their debut, they have gone onto share stages with the likes of Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, and Julia Jacklin, while continuing to determine a creative identity built on strong and confessional songwriting, and beautifully realised musicianship. Folk Bitch Trio’s natural confidence as a group comes from their shared love for storytelling and as they themselves have determined, “truth-telling” – making the final result, music that has a strong heart at its core.
